From the Rifugio Calvi shelter at a height of 2,164 m above sea level, follow the CAI Trail No. 132 uphill to the Sesis Pass at a height of 2,312 m above sea level. From the pass, go down travelling along the Val Fleons (CAI Trail No.140), passing by Casera Fleons di Sopra up to Casera Fleons di Sotto at a height of 1,571 m above sea level. Following CAI Trail No. 403, continue to Casera Sissanis di Sotto and from here, climb up (CAI Trail No. 142) up to the top of the Vallone di Sissanis to Sella Sissanis. Continuing at a high altitude, overlooking Lake Bordaglia (signposted CAI Trails No. 142a and No. 403) you reach the Giramondo Pass at a height of 2,005 m above sea level and enter Austria. From the pass, go down to the Wolayer Alm at a height of 1,708m above sea level and follow a gravel road uphill to the Wolayerseehütte on the banks of Lake Volaia. After crossing the nearby Volaia pass at a height of 1,970 m above sea level, the Rifugio Lambertenghi-Romanin shelter at a height of 1,955 m can soon be reached. From the shelter, descend along the trail and then the forest road (CAI trail sign 144) until you reach a fork just above the Tolazzi shelter. Turn right and you will soon reach the shelter.
