From the Watschiger Alm at a height of 1,625m above sea level, follow CAI Trail No. 403 up to the Garnitzentörl at a height of 1,856m above sea level near the ski slopes and from there down to the Garnitzenalm. The trail cuts across the right-hand side of the valley slightly downhill and joins up with a forest track that leads to Sella della Spalla at a height of 1439 m above sea level. Enter Italian territory and, a little further down, leave the forest road to continue on the left (signposted CAI Trail No. 403) until you enter the little valley which, once you climb up to the top, leads to Sella Zille at a hight of 1,498 m above sea level. Once back in Austria, continue along a forest road (signposted CAI Trail No. 403) that is first at a high altitude and then going downhill leading to the Egger Alm at a height of 1,422 m above sea level. A comfortable carriage road (signposted CAI Trail No. 403) leads eastwards to the Dellacher Alm. At the crossroads before the malga (mountain hut), take the road on the right, always following the signposted CAI Trail No. 403. After crossing the wooded Poludnig ridge, CAI Trail No. 403 leaves the road and descends to the Kesselwald Bach and then climbs up the opposite side of the valley. Signposted CAI Trail No. 403 then climbs up the forest road to the Görtschacher Alm and continues on the trail to the flat ridge (at a height of 1,866 m above sea level) between the peaks of Mount Sagran and Mount Starhand. The trail descends steeply through the forest in the direction of the Wirtshaus Starhard near the Sella di Lom (1,460 m above sea level). After crossing the border on a gentle forest road, the trail soon leads down to the Rifugio Nordio-Deffar shelter at a height of 1,406 m above sea level.
